Additionally, I am on a mission to help slow the rapid rise in dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, which are forecast to increase by 67% in the next decade. There is no excuse to allow this to happen, since science now shows us that both dementia and Alzheimer’s are both postponable, perhaps even preventable.

In doing research for my latest book, Better Decisions Better Thinking Better Outcomes, I came across several scientific studies that directly linked excess weight as a leading cause of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Having been the main care provider to my Dad in his latter years as he suffered from early-stage dementia, I know full well the financial and emotional costs of dealing with an elderly parent struggling to cope with cognitive deterioration.
